Increasing use of technology leads to a world rethink about the real threat of e-waste globally. We know the rapidly growing consequences, but what stops us from managing e-waste? If we do not take steps towards e-waste management, then when will we take action? Read this article and know why e-waste management is important.

Over the past 10years, the growing usage of technology and its advancement in our day-to-day life has led to a massive increase in electric and electronic waste (E-waste). Faster upgradation of technology results in purchasing more and more electronic products very quickly, which, in turn, adds to e-waste. The growing problem of e-waste demands greater attention on recycling e-waste and better e-waste management. This article will list our top 3 reasons why e-waste management is important.

  1. Land protection:

Through dumping electronic waste on land, it pollutes the soil of the region and further makes the plants filled with harmful chemical emissions and agricultural land less fertilizing. Because electronic products carry heavy metals and improperly dumping them on the ground pollutes the soil. Also, it is harmful to animals and insects. Hence, properly disposing of e-waste and management of e-waste becomes a necessary step to follow.

2. Water protection:

By managing e-waste, we can protect our water bodies also. The harmful chemical emissions enter groundwater through the soil, polluting the water and affecting our health. Therefore, e-waste management is crucial these days, not for our health only but for the safety of our environment.

3. Air protection:

Having discussed how e-waste affects land and water, Air does not remain untouched from its harmful effects. When a large quantity of e-waste is dumped on the ground and, after dumping it, burned waste materials. The burning process releases hydrocarbon gasses in the atmosphere, which is harmful to the lungs and heart, majorly for our respiratory system. Hence, the proper dumping and management of e-waste is the solution here.

Conclusion :

To protect the environment and the safety of our health, we need to take the necessary steps to halt the repercussions of e-waste. Through e-waste management, we can balance the ecological system of our environment; otherwise, it would be too late and beyond repair.
